my New Year's Eve feast

If you had told me 25 years ago, when I was just a mere child of 11 (!) that on December 31, 2007 I would be thoroughly enjoying, not a chou romano, pictured here, pretty as it is, but rather a meal of donkey and wild boar sausage (apéritif), raw oysters (entrée), nearly raw beef topped with fat goose liver (mmmmmmmmm, plat principal) sided by Brussel sprouts (browned in butter, bien sûr), followed by varied ewe, goat and cow cheeses, mango and strong coffee, I wouldn't have believed you.  Want to join us?  Too late! Nothing's left!  Happy and safe New Year's Eve to you, even though.
